George Elmer has had her head in the underworld since she was old enough to imagine it. She spent her childhood reading books far above her age group’s reading level and daydreaming about the evil fairies in the garden. She’s a multi-passionate creative, writing horror stories on the side since her graduation from university in 2018 (it’s a BSc with honours in Psychology and Criminology).

The “proper” job everyone thought she should get after finishing her formal education never agreed with her. Since graduation, she’s had many jobs that never lasted longer than a year. Not all of them were her fault. She’s been a care assistant at a potentially haunted care home, a teaching assistant in one of the oldest market towns in her home county, and volunteers with events with her local church (which doesn’t have any ghosts that she knows of).

In 2025, George started the “Stranger Spooks” podcast to share local folklore and legends that never quite make it out of the county. Convincing her parents to come on the podcast is an ongoing side project.

If she isn’t researching various folklores or obscure scientific or mythological trivia, you can find George reading whichever book holds her current interest (or rereading a favourite), learning French, or completing yet another unofficial diploma. Her current diplomas are in Egyptology and Arthurian Legends. She fears for anyone who checks her internet search history.
